Have you ever had one of those moments where, at a time and in a place you would least expect, you run into a distant relative? aRTy had one of those moments earlier this week. Burn had taken aRTy out for a spin with Burn, Jr. and ran into a convenience store to grab (yet another) bottle of power steering fluid. When he came back out, aRTy was nearly bursting with pride as he sat next to his second cousin thrice removed — a vintage and beautifully restored Chevy Camaro.
aRTy’s bloodline decends from the Dodge Aspen R/T, another of Detroit’s famous (if slightly less famous) muscle car dynasties of the 1960s and 1970s. While the family resemblance is minial, there can be no denying a common ancestry.
While brief, the reunion was filled with much mutual admiration and perhaps aRTy even picked up some tips about how to command the road and draw envious glances on the upcoming 2010 BABE Rally the way his aged but still distinguished distant relative has done for decades.
