THOTC-sponsored car show nets 750+ toys and $2,500+ for Toys For Tots!

Georgia Cool Cruisers‘ annual Cruise-In for Toys For Tots at the Galaxy Diner in Atlanta, Georgia was a resounding success! Dozens of interesting and exciting cars, hundreds of attendees, and a huge outpouring of support for a great charity made for an exciting Saturday. The final tally was 762 toys with an estimated value of $10,500 that will find their way to hundreds of needy and deserving children and over $2,500 in cash to help Toys For Tots acquire even more toys and offset the costs of getting those toys into children’s hands.

Many thanks to Georgia Cool Cruisers, Rick and Sharon Ellis, and the many volunteers who made this event happen. Two Horsemen of the Carpocalypse is humbled and honored to have played even a small role in it.

Dodge is all decked out!

As mentioned previously, BABE8 has a new wrinkle… a spec theme.  Where in previous years teams had leeway to decorate their cars however they saw fit, this year the organizers in their infinite… wisdom… decided to have all the teams decorate their cars within a single theme. With major points to be had – or lost – THOTC set aside its previous plans to one-up even last year’s zombie car and began puzzling how to transform Dodge into a “facsimilie of a recognizable famous rally car.”

THOTC BABE Rally 2011 fundraising update: $3,500+ (!!!)

Thanks to a very generous BABE rallier deciding to donate double the amount pledged, plus a few other post-Rally donations, the team’s total amount raised for the American Diabetes Association and March of Dimes in the 2011 BABE Rally has now exceeded $3,500!!!

THOTC 2011 BABE Rally Day 4 Video Update

More wrenching on Val, followed by a unique challenge requiring competitors to locate and duplicate twenty postage stamp-sized, gritty black-and-white photos taken months previously by the Rally’s organizers. The team is beyond tired, but excited about the final run to the finish line 440 miles away in New Orleans tomorrow.
